Train the Trainer

Learn It. Build It. Teach It.

This immersive program prepares participants to confidently teach the LGBTQ+ 101 course while developing the broader skills needed to design, research, and facilitate high-quality adult learning experiences. Participants first experience the course as learners, then move behind the scenes to understand how the training is structured, why certain teaching choices are made, and how to deliver the content with accuracy, cultural humility, and confidence.

The program also goes beyond facilitation. Participants learn how to conduct ethical research, evaluate sources, identify misinformation and disinformation, build an effective PowerPoint presentation, and apply adult education principles that support engagement and retention. Throughout the experience, participants practice translating information into accessible learning, navigating questions and group dynamics, and making sound decisions about what belongs in a training and how it should be presented.

The program culminates in a group teach-back, where participants apply what they have learned by facilitating portions of the course themselves. This gives them the opportunity to practice in a supportive environment, receive feedback, and build confidence before leading the training on their own.
